My “sister” came to visit us for a few weeks with her two little boys. I was more than pleased when she told me she was coming. We had a great time chatting and spending time going out places and celebrating birthdays. She asked if I could do a mini session of her and her kids and I had to agree, she’s a beautiful lady and her eyes are amazing, captivating!

I am in misbelief at how much my godchild has grown, it was only a few months ago that I had gone to his baptism in Mexico. Now he’s changed so much he was all smiles, he has beautiful big brown eyes something he inherited from his mama, he is the greatest baby ever, the whole time he stayed with us I rarely heard him cry, maybe once or twice. It seemed as there was no baby, he is such a happy little guy and I can’t wait to see him again.

I cannot believe my little one is two!!! He’s growing up way to fast it seems like not long ago he came into our lives and we took him home. I miss him being my little baby, so tiny; now he’s a big boy who can’t stop, he’s on the go and wants to be just like his big brother, he’s two going on 6.
This year I wanted to try the session with the cake as I did for his first birthday, much better turn around then last year, he actually tasted the cake and sat there without a cry

Playing around with some props and my willing model, it was a fun little session, and he really enjoyed it too, went along with all the craziness mama made He’s such a good sport, I am sure I’ll be hearing from him in his teenage years

I was asked by my lovely sister in law to do a photo shoot of the family but mostly of the kids, I had not photographed them since December of 2007. She wanted to have an updated picture of the kids so that she could print and give to her family in Mexico. I thought it was a great idea, so we planned it chose the location at the last minute and headed there. The weather was perfect, location was nice although we experience something very frightening. I picked this location mainly because of the rocks and the little pond, I had seen it one day when we went to have lunch at a near by place a few months back. We wanted to make sure our kids were safe so we brought them in the stroller and asked for the oldest to stay where we could see them.

When we arrived there was a mother with two girls, one must have been 7 or 8 the other no more than 2 and a half. The lady was sitting by the rock on the edge of one side, while the older girl was about 500 meters poking something in the water with a stick. The little girl was walking towards the sister (I assume that is what she was). We stopped and parked our strollers in place and started choosing the location where there was shade, when we looked up the little girl was inside the pond struggling to stand and get her head out of the water. The pond must have been 3 feet deep at the edge because the girl could not stand, I was in shock and within a few seconds realized that this girl needed help and I then started going towards her but by that time, my sister in law who was a few steps ahead of me, ran, got in the water and pull the girl to safety. As I watched her pull her out I turned to the mother to get her attention but she was too busy doing something on the phone, (probably text messaging). A few minutes later she walked towards us and we told her what happened. The little girl was sobbing and the mother grabbed her and turned to the oldest to tell her she should have been watching her. My sister in law and I were shocked to hear what the mother was saying, we could not belive she was putting the blame on the oldest daughter, they could have both drown, what has she thinking? Some people are oblivious.

Anyway aside from that bad experience, we manage to get some cute pictures, even though my sister in law was soaked from waist down. The kids cooperated as much as they allowed us, my oldest did well but that was only because he got candy. My niece, was cold and was not happy with that, but she did it regardless, and the little ones, not the easiest, they would not stay still and wanted to go their own direction but we managed

Aren’ t they the cutest? I love the poses that my niece gave me, she looks so grown up to me, specially with the hairstyle (sister-in-law straighted it a bit on the top), and the picture of my oldest is by far my favorite so far, he looks very handsome when he allows me to do his hair, which is not often. My youngest as usual so photogenic, so is my sister in law, and my nephew, handsome as usual, but would not smile due to the candy in his mouth. They all look so grown up, where have our babies gone!

I could not resist, I had to take this photo, I had seen a pose similar to this at a site and told myself I had to do it with my little one. I made a first attempt but it was not much of a success, he kept munching on the stuffed animals or tried to escape.

On my second attempt I had my “assistant” (my mom) get his attention so that he would stay and smile or turn towards us. It was not much difference then my first attemp because he did all the above, the good thing was at least I got a few decent photos. I love his little tushy along the little animals.

It has been a long while or so it seems since I’ve been able to photograph an adult. I always find it of a challenge photographing adults for one I like to just freely take candid photos without the necessity to have them pose. On adults though it seems they want to have poses and I find it odd to tell them what to do.

Luckily for me, my sister in law (pictured above) is a real beauty so whatever pose was done she looked amazing regardless. She could truly pass as a professional model, she’s got the face for sure and her body is just a beautiful even after her two kids.

There were a lot of photos I took of her and I must admit that I have lots of favorites from her session, she was such a great help in that she knew what to wear, how to do her make up and hair. I definitely had a hard time choosing which photos to display on the blog, there were too many where she looked amazing.
